McLaren Secures Multi-Year Partnership Deal with British Media Giant Global

McLaren Racing has announced a significant new multi-year partnership with Global, the British media and entertainment conglomerate, making the company the official race partner and official audio race partner for both McLaren’s Formula 1 team and upcoming Hypercar program. The announcement was made live on radio this morning during visits by presenters from Global’s flagship breakfast shows Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden, and Capital Breakfast with Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby to McLaren’s Technology Centre in Woking.

Global, established in 2007 and headquartered at Leicester Square in London, has developed into one of Europe’s largest commercial radio operators. The company’s portfolio includes major UK radio brands such as Capital, Heart, Smooth, Classic FM, LBC and Radio X, while also running an extensive outdoor advertising network featuring more than 250,000 sites throughout the United Kingdom. Their digital platform Global Player streams all radio stations live and provides podcasts, on-demand content and curated music playlists.

Under the terms of the agreement, Global branding will be prominently displayed on team radio headsets during Formula 1 race weekends at Monaco, Silverstone and other key European rounds. On selected race weekends, Global Player branding will appear on race-team headsets worn by McLaren personnel and team drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri throughout their F1 activities.

The partnership will also encompass McLaren’s World Endurance Championship Hypercar initiative, which is set to debut in 2027. The Hypercar category represents the premier class of the WEC series and includes the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race, adding another dimension to the collaboration between the two organizations.

“Global shares our commitment to reaching fans in meaningful ways,” stated Matt Dennington, co-chief commercial officer at McLaren Racing. “Bringing them into some of our most iconic race environments will add real value to how we connect with audiences throughout the season. We look forward to working closely with the Global team across the selected races.” Mike Gordon, chief commercial officer at Global, emphasized the shared values between the organizations, saying “Global and McLaren both have a drive for performance and precision, with a shared focus on entertaining and engaging audiences.”
