Formula 1 Secures Las Vegas Grand Prix Extension Through 2037 in Major 10-Year Deal

Formula 1 has locked in its commitment to the Las Vegas Grand Prix through at least 2037, announcing a 10-year contract extension that solidifies the championship’s presence in the entertainment capital. The agreement extends F1’s relationship with Las Vegas well into the next decade, building on what has become one of the sport’s most successful recent additions to the calendar.

The Las Vegas Grand Prix represents the culmination of four decades of efforts to establish a race that incorporates the iconic Strip into its circuit layout. F1 demonstrated unprecedented commitment to the project by investing $500 million to purchase prime real estate in central Las Vegas, where the series constructed a state-of-the-art pit facility and paddock complex specifically for the event.

F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali expressed enthusiasm about the long-term partnership, stating the organization always believed Las Vegas would become a cornerstone of their United States presence. He emphasized that this extension, combined with recent successes, reinforces F1’s long-term commitment to the crucial American market. The sport’s willingness to invest directly in Las Vegas infrastructure proved instrumental in securing city support and permission to race along the famous Strip.

The economic impact has exceeded expectations, with the Las Vegas Grand Prix generating $3.2 billion in cumulative economic benefits since its 2023 debut. The event has transformed what was previously the city’s least profitable weekend of the year – the period before Thanksgiving – into one of its most lucrative. Officials project the 2025 race alone will contribute $43 million in tax revenue to Las Vegas coffers.

Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority President and CEO Steve Hill described the extension as a major milestone for both the city and the grand prix. He noted that in just three years, the race has evolved into a signature global event that positions Las Vegas at the center of culture, competition, and entertainment during race week, further establishing the city as a premier sports and entertainment destination on the world stage.
