Four-time Formula 1 world champion Alain Prost was injured during a violent burglary at his residence in Nyon, Switzerland, earlier this week, Swiss media outlets have reported.
The 71-year-old former driver sustained a minor head injury during a confrontation with masked intruders who forced their way into his villa near Lake Geneva. Prost’s son was reportedly coerced at gunpoint or under threat to open the family safe during the raid.
Large-Scale Manhunt Launched
Swiss authorities deployed specialist dog units and forensic teams immediately after the incident, launching a large-scale manhunt for the suspects. French law enforcement agencies were also alerted amid concerns that the perpetrators may have crossed the border into France.
Investigators are examining all possibilities as the search continues across the Lake Geneva region. The exact amount of property or valuables taken has not yet been confirmed, though several reports have pointed to Prost’s long-standing association with luxury watchmaker Richard Mille, whose timepieces can reach extremely high values on the collector’s market.
Prost Relocates to Dubai
Swiss newspaper Blick reports that Prost has left Switzerland and returned to Dubai, where he also resides part of the year, following the incident.
The burglary comes amid growing concern over a rise in home invasions targeting wealthy residents in the Lake Geneva region. Swiss reports indicate that 18 similar incidents were recorded in Geneva alone in 2025, highlighting an escalating security issue in the area.
