Lewis Hamilton’s charitable foundation Mission 44 has been announced as the official charity partner for the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, marking a significant collaboration between the seven-time Formula 1 world champion’s organization and one of motorsport’s most prestigious events. The partnership aims to advance Mission 44’s core mission of creating a more inclusive future by breaking down barriers that prevent young people from accessing education and careers in STEM fields and motorsport.
As part of this groundbreaking partnership, Mission 44 will bring 60 young people to the Festival of Speed, providing them with an unprecedented opportunity to experience the event firsthand while gaining valuable insights into motorsport careers and STEM opportunities. The initiative directly supports the foundation’s goal of ensuring every young person can thrive in education and access previously exclusive career paths in these high-tech industries.
The Duke of Richmond, founder of the Festival of Speed, praised the collaboration, describing Mission 44’s work as “absolutely vital” and emphasizing how the event has always sought to inspire future generations. “We’re proud to be supporting Mission 44 in breaking down the significant barriers still at play for many,” he stated, expressing hope that festival visitors will engage with the charity as part of driving toward a fairer, more inclusive future in motorsport.
Mission 44 CEO Jason Arthur highlighted the foundation’s core philosophy, explaining that “talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not – and that’s what drives our work.” He emphasized how the organization funds programs, provides scholarships, and campaigns for change to help young people succeed in fields where access has historically been limited. Arthur expressed pride in the partnership with an event that has such powerful ability to inspire the next generation and open doors for young people seeking their place in these industries.
Festival attendees will have multiple opportunities to learn about Mission 44’s impact through the charity’s dedicated stand in the new FOS Fan Zone. The organization will also host panel discussions and live conversations on the main stage, while providing information on how fans can get involved or make donations to support the foundation’s ongoing work in education and motorsport accessibility.
