FIA Unveils F1 ‘ADUO’ Schedule Timeline Before Canadian Grand Prix

The FIA has released the Active Aero Deployment Unit operational timelines for the Canadian Grand Prix weekend, providing teams and drivers with the activation windows for the 2026 regulations’ most significant aerodynamic innovation.

The ADUO system โ€” one of the defining features of Formula 1’s current technical rules โ€” allows drivers to adjust front and rear wing elements to reduce drag on straights and increase downforce in corners. The FIA publishes track-specific activation zones and timing parameters ahead of each race weekend to ensure consistent application across the field.

The Canadian Grand Prix takes place at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, a track characterised by long straights and heavy braking zones where active aerodynamics play a critical role in lap time and overtaking opportunities.

Teams will integrate the published timelines into their simulation work and strategy planning ahead of Friday’s opening practice sessions.
