Alpine Targets Fourth Consecutive Points Finish at Miami Grand Prix Sprint Weekend

Alpine enters the Miami Grand Prix with considerable momentum after securing points in each of the first three rounds of the 2026 Formula 1 season, positioning themselves sixth in the constructors’ championship. The French team aims to extend their impressive points-scoring streak to four consecutive races at the challenging Florida street circuit, marking a dramatic turnaround from their disappointing 2025 campaign.

Pierre Gasly has spearheaded Alpine’s resurgence this season and remains optimistic about maintaining their upward trajectory despite the month-long break since Suzuka. “I am feeling very excited to go racing again,” Gasly stated. “We will look to resume from where we ended in Japan and that means being well in the mix for Q3 and points.” The experienced French driver acknowledges the challenges ahead, particularly with rival teams expected to introduce performance upgrades at Miami’s demanding venue.

Franco Colapinto brings renewed energy to Alpine following his spectacular demonstration run in Buenos Aires, where he captivated over 500,000 spectators last weekend. The young driver emphasizes the importance of maximizing the limited practice time available during Sprint weekend format. “We have a longer FP1 on Friday which will be very helpful to understand our car ahead of a very full-on weekend,” Colapinto explained. “Our goal, as usual, is to do the best job possible and to resume the season with another points finish.”

Alpine’s sporting director Steve Nielsen confirmed the team has utilized the extended break productively, developing upgrades for the A526 car that will debut in Miami. “In Formula One terms, having a month away from racing is very unusual,” Nielsen noted. “That being said, it has been an exceptionally busy few weeks for the team. We have had a competitive start in 2026 with points scored at each round and that continues to be our intention at every event.” The Sprint weekend format will test Alpine’s preparation, with only one extended practice session before competitive action begins.
