Nubank and Mercedes unveil special purple race suits for Miami GP

Nubank will make its Formula 1 partnership with Mercedes-AMG Petronas more visible than ever at the 2026 Miami Grand Prix, with a special activation that includes customized purple race suits for George Russell and Kimi Antonelli.

For the first time in the team’s history, Mercedes drivers will wear three different race suits across the same Grand Prix weekend. All three designs will feature Nubank’s signature purple and each one will represent a different chapter in the company’s expansion.

Friday’s suit will carry the coordinates of “Casinha”, Nubank’s original office in São Paulo, where the company was founded in 2013. Saturday’s version will point to Nubank’s expansion across Latin America, with references to its offices in Mexico and Colombia. For Sunday’s race, the suit will include the coordinates of Nu Stadium, the future home of Inter Miami CF, symbolizing Nubank’s move into the United States.

The Miami Grand Prix will be the first major on-track moment for the partnership between Nubank and Mercedes, which was announced in January 2026. Alongside the race suits, the activation includes a new brand film starring Russell and Antonelli, as well as the “House of Nu”, a three-day fan experience in Wynwood, Miami.

Located at 116 NW 25th Street, the House of Nu will allow visitors to see the special purple suits, Mercedes-AMG Petronas memorabilia, an augmented reality experience and exclusive items from the partnership. Entry will be free, but requires registration through Nu Insider Access, with limited availability.

For Nubank, the Miami GP is more than a sponsorship appearance. The company is using Formula 1 as part of its brand-building strategy ahead of its planned expansion into the U.S. market. Nubank says it has more than 130 million customers globally and received conditional approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in January 2026 to form a national bank in the United States.

Miami has become one of Formula 1’s most important commercial stages in the United States, and Nubank’s decision to turn Mercedes purple for the weekend shows how aggressively the Brazilian fintech wants to introduce itself to a new audience.
