Haas Unveils Special Godzilla-Themed Livery for Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka

The Haas Formula 1 team has revealed a striking Godzilla-inspired special livery for this weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka Circuit. The American squad unveiled the bold design during a promotional event in Tokyo, marking their tribute to the iconic Japanese film monster following a recent partnership with entertainment giant Toho.

The modified VF-24 maintains Haas’s signature white, black and red color palette while incorporating Godzilla imagery into the overall aesthetic. This special livery represents the team’s continued efforts to strengthen its relationship with Japanese culture and motorsport fans, building on their expanding presence in the market through their technical partnership with Toyota.

Haas entered into a technical collaboration with Toyota in 2024, with the Japanese automotive manufacturer subsequently becoming the team’s title sponsor as Toyota Gazoo Racing. The partnership has deepened the American outfit’s ties to Japan, following last year’s cherry blossom-themed one-off livery that also debuted at Suzuka Circuit.

Team principal Ayao Komatsu expressed enthusiasm about returning to what he considers a home race for the organization. “The Japanese Grand Prix is another one of our home races, this season returning with our title partner Toyota Gazoo Racing,” Komatsu stated. “So it’s a really big race for us. We’re motivated to carry on the momentum we got from the first two races, and I think the team is working really, really well.”

The special livery debut comes as Haas enjoys a strong start to the 2024 campaign, currently sitting fourth in the constructors’ championship. Oliver Bearman has contributed valuable points finishes in both the Australian and Chinese grands prix, providing the team with solid momentum heading into Suzuka. Komatsu emphasized their goal of maximizing performance on the challenging Japanese circuit, aiming to secure points with both drivers while adapting their approach to extract the best from their package.
